***Believe it or not, dear reader, it has come to the time where I will start (gasp!) repeating shoes. Sad, but true. However, I have made it far longer than usual this year, thanks to the motivation all of you have given me! Thanks for your comments--both on the blog and in person! Because of your support, I was able to keep up the shoe work for twice as long as usual--a whopping 20 weeks!!! If, at any point, I get new shoes (ok, not "if", more like "when!") and add them to my rotation, I will be updating the "daily shoe." Keep your eyes peeled for any time the "daily shoe" makes it to the top of the blog post list! (Oh, and if anyone wants to add to my shoe collection, I definitely take donations. I wear a size 5. :) )***
I love my shoes. Anyone who knows me knows that. In fact, I love my shoes so much that I own over 115 pairs...
I know. It's a sickness.
I teach, and in the first 10 or so weeks of school, I don't repeat my shoes (it's probably more than that, because I don't repeat my boots right away, either). Last year, I had a student ask me if we could take pictures of my shoes every day and hang them on the wall in my classroom. I told her that we could, but she and I never did it.
As a homage to her, here is my "daily shoe"--an archive of the shoes I wear to work each and every day...until I start repeating that is! At times, I will also be adding some of the more fabulous shoes that I wear on the weekend. (I won't be adding any of my run of the mill ballet flats, my go to sneakers (or any other of my sneakers, for that matter), any of my multitude of flip-flops or any of my several pairs of Uggs...while I love these shoes, and don't play favorites with my "children" (I love them all equally!), I just think that they're not site worthy...I'm sure you understand, dear reader.) These weekend shoes don't get worn to work for one of several reasons: either they are flats (I won't wear flats to work on the days when the students are in the building), they are too dressy for work, or the season changes before I get to wear them. If they are a shoe worn on the weekend, the caption will be a different color.
In the captions, I have included the year that I bought the shoe. I have some shoes that have lasted with me for many, many years--that have survived numerous purges. I have others that are brand new, but most fall in between. All-in-all, I have a great mix of shoes!

ReplyDeleteLucas's mom, Lynn, here. ok...now I know why he loves you. I myself have so many shoes that I have to switch winter and summer shoes. And that is after I gave away 2 hefty bags of old shoes. This made me laugh out loud. Plus, I love your taste in shoes! I wear a lot of flats but i am 5'8" so sort of got used to the flat thing.
ReplyDeleteI order tons of shoes on line. Zappos becuase they deliver in like 10 minutes and shipping is free both ways. And nordstrom because shipping is free one way but then I can return to the store. I hit up DSW regularly and wander the aisles in a daze.
